Unfortunately I really like this book and reread it a lot. I will only write one summary obviously but I figured I would just get this one done now.

I really only like this book in the series, I feel like they just keep getting worse and worse with each book she releases unfortunately.

the book:

Violet has EDS and is fragile. She gets sent to a war college to be in the riders (dragon rider)quadrant when she really wanted to go into the scribes (scholars and record keepers) quadrant.

There she makes friends and enemies and also finds a lover. She has to overcome and adapt to being a rider with a disability and bonds with a very strong dragon and also a little cute dragon. The dragon that she bonds with is mates to the person who is an enemy but becomes a lover (obviously).

You get powers from the magic your dragon channels into you. Her childhood best friend can read memories by touching your face, the enemy/lover controls shadows, and she can wield lightning.

It turns out that the enemy/lover, who is a part of the children of the separatists and are considered outcasts, has been helping out the enemy by giving them weapons. Although the enemy, the flyers (they ride on griffins), aren’t using the weapons against them but against other, worse enemies that I don’t know the name of or how to spell them if I could remember.

They end up getting sent out to a place outside of the wards, a magical barrier that stops the griffin riders from using their magic but also keeps out the ultra bad guys. There they run into the ultra bad guys and Violet ends up critically injured.

She gets taken to the city that enemy/lover used to live before his dad was killed that we were all under the assumption was also destroyed. Also her brother who was presumed dead for the last 6 years is alive and the one who mended her.

She was mad at enemy/lover because he lied to her about lots of things like helping the flyers by giving them weapons, that the ultra bad guys existed, that the city that was destroyed actually was rebuilding, and that her brother was still alive.

Guys there are a lot of things about this story that is really hard to explain and summarize since there is so much to explain about the world but like I don’t WANT to go alllll that into it cause that is so hard and I am so lazy. And, also this is for me, and you if you are interested.

lol, I plan on writing a summary for Iron Flame and also Onyx Storm so rip that will be hard to explain without me explaining the lore, oh well 🙂
