So guys, I have actually read this book before. I don’t know why it was on my TBR again but I figured I would read it again.

I like it the first time I read it back in 2021 but giving it a reread I don’t like it as much as last time (not too much less though). I think I was reflecting more on what was being said in the story and also I am just a different person now.

But I am not really here to give a review, I am here for a summary. So here it is.

Nora feels like she has nothing to live for anymore and decides to end her life. But she ends up in this library and sees the old librarian that was kind to her as a kid when her father died.

The librarian explains to Nora that she is not dead but not alive, she has been given an opportunity to try and find a different life to live. She will get to choose a life where she made a different decision and life that life. But when she feels truly disappointed in the life they she will be sent back to the library to choose something else until she finds the perfect life.

We are following her as she goes through multiple lives in detail. One here she married her ex fiance, one where she stayed in the band she had with her brother, she didn’t quit swimming, or choose to go on a date with a nice man.

She lived hundreds of lives before finally going through the one where she went on the date with a nice man. She feels like it is the perfect life but also feels like she stole that life from the Nora that was living it.

Eventually she gets taken back to a crumbling library and the librarian told her that she couldn’t stay in the perfect life because she has decided that she wants to live in her root life. She makes her way out of the library and back into her root life.

There she reconciles with her brother and doing what makes her happy.

So I actually finished this book back in June and started this summary and totally forgot I didn’t finish it. I literally finished the second to last sentence and added the last sentence so sorry if I missed anything…
