I’m working my way through my Goodreads TBR cause it simply has gotten too long. So I read this book. It has been on the list for so long I don’t remember where it even came from or when I put it on there.

But it’s a gay pirate book and I didn’t really like it. Will I read the second one when it comes out? Yes. You can’t blame me, it’s gay and I am starved for this media.

One of my big gripes is that there was sooooo much back and forth. Like can we make an actual decision and stop thinking so much. I don’t care if its accurate, move the story along please. This did need to be 514 pages with the amount of content inside the book.

So RIP me, I read this at the very beginning of April and have forgotten a lot about it. This is the exact reason why I started this thing… cause I already forgot 🙁 but I will fill in as much as I can

Lore: there are witches and people don’t like them and murder them or something.

The main character is trying to make it back home to her dragons but is trying to hide who she is. She has to cross an ocean to get there. So she joins the pirate crew and makes a deal with the captain (hot lesbian) to be their surgeon onboard.

Surprise, her medical knowledge comes from being a witch.

They have a lot of back and forth, lots of sexual tension, of course they eventually have sex.

Both have the same ex girlfriend who betrayed them individually to move up in the ranks in the military.

The ex girlfriend eventually finds them and attacks the ship, they kinda get away and make it to the island and is reunited with her dragons.

Instead of bailing to live on the island with the dragons, she decides to go back to the ship with the dragons to help them defeat the returning ex girlfriend.

Next book.

2.5 stars for sure, it didn’t make a big impression on me besides that most of the time I wanted it to end but there were a few times that I found myself interested in the book.
