This is another book that Nat and I saw at a bookstore one day, although he was the first one to read it. He physically checked it out from the library and I borrowed it from him afterwards. So basically I read a real, physical book!! Yay me cause I don’t do that often lol.

This is a QUICK read. I finished it in like three days and only read for maybe 45 min each day but it was sporadic because it was while I was at work.

At 160 pages there isn’t much of a detailed summary I can do. It is a lot of random thoughts the main character feels and it’s really broken trains of thought as well.

A mountain lion lives under the Hollywood sign. He is constantly listening in on hikers conversations and is constantly hungry.

He thinks of eating people but never wants to become that type of animal.

He looks over the group of unhoused people that live in a camp nearby.

One day the camp gets set on fire and he runs into downtown LA and gets taken in by a girl.

He eventually gets found out by her parents and she tried to run away with him. Although while stopped at a red light he sees the person that set the camp on fire, jumps out, and murders him.

The end.

I really enjoyed this book, it did take me a second to get used to the writing style but what do you expect when it’s the perspective of a mountain lion who doesn’t know who he is??
