This is the second book in a series. Although each book is technically a standalone. It is more in the category of books that are in the same world but each one is about someone else in the friend group.

I read the first book in October 2023. I knew it wouldn’t matter if I remembered what happened and as I was reading this one I can confirm that you don’t have to have read any of the other ones.

There was many times in this book that they would talk about what happened but in an easy way that didn’t make me feel like I was missing anything.

Biggest complaint is that this book is just soooo “politically correct”. Lol it makes me sound like a horrible person, but honestly I don’t care if your bag is vegan leather or that the tarot cards you are using are only girls or non-binary person. I just feel like there were too many things that was put in there that just took up space and wasted ink.

Here is the book.

Astrid is a interior designer who apparently only does modern designs. Surprisingly her business is failing and she has an opportunity to design a hotel on a popular show.

The first morning of the shoot she gets coffee spilled on her expensive dress and yells at the person who spilled it. When she shows up to the hotel, it turns out that the person who spilled the coffee is the carpenter for the shoot and also is family to the owners.

Jordan doesn’t like Astrid’s design and goes behind her back to redesign the whole house and goes to the house in the middle of the night to rework a whole room before the cameras get there so that it is on camera and Astrid has to either have her pride ruined or will have to roll with it.

Astrid rolls with it. At first she isn’t happy about it but eventually they start to actually work together.

Surprise they two start developing feeling for each other and they start a love affair behind scenes without the show runners knowing.

Jordan’s ex-wife shows up and spills the beans that Astrid isn’t being honest and that it isn’t her design. The show gets cancelled and Astrid is fired and “disgraced”. Fortunately for her, she didn’t even like the work she was doing, so she was able to start over and became the GM for the hotel and also their baker.

The two girls end up together, the end.

I don’t think I will read the third and final book in this series. I am just not into it and specifically the language that gets used throughout. I am sure it makes me sound like an asshole or that I use incorrect language to describe things and honestly I don’t. I am a respectful person who doesn’t go out of my way to say disrespectful things to people. I just don’t want to have this strange language that sounds clunky in my media like this.

Bye
