I didn’t know that the ringing in my ears wasn’t normal. I always thought that tinnitus was something that was loud and got in the way of you being able to hear. But my ringing happens when it’s quite, or really only when I am quiet and don’t have anything else to listen to. It is a gentle ringing that I hear in mostly my right ear but since noticing, its there in my left as well. I wish I could give you the note that it is. I feel like that would be satisfying, to be able to tell people what my ringing sounds like.
Sometimes I will get hit with a really loud one that makes my hearing go out almost completely until the ringing fades out and my hearing comes back. Again, I thought this was normal and that everyone experienced this every once in awhile, until my friend told me it wasn’t.
I know I should go to the doctor for this but that really isn’t in the cards for me right now so it is just another of those ‘one day’ things. But update since I wrote this a day ago originally, I made an appointment although it felt somewhat against my will.
The place that I get my hearing check in CO was calling me everyday. I finally answered today to see why I was getting called so much. I asked “do I owe you guys money or something?” and the woman kindly laughed at me and said she was just trying to get an appointment scheduled. But like?????? Why are you calling me every day to get this done?????? That feels insane to do this just to schedule an appointment.
I notice it most when I am trying to eavesdrop on a conversation. I try to be as quite as I possibly can but that ringing in my right ear really keeps me humble.
Now I notice it all the time, when I am having conversations or listening to music. It’s honestly quite annoying and I wish I never noticed it before. Please make it stop lol.
