Storygraph says that I finished this book on December 8th so you can bet that I don’t remember much about it. I did give it 3 stars but like reflecting back I wasn’t that big of a fan of it?
I mean its a contemporary romance so it def follows a formula and you could almost guess what happens with just a couple sentences.
Here is what I remember.
These two are enemies, they are from the same small town in…. Texas? FMC used to date MMC’s friend back in high school. He broke up with her cause he is a dick. MMC has been secretly in love with FMC since high school.
They end up having to ride together home for the holidays. Boy is trying to hide his dads illness (MS I am pretty sure) cause he doesn’t want people to pity him (I think, this is actually a guess based on formula lol). Girl’s dad is getting remarried and she feels like he doesn’t love her, she is only coming back because he asked her to be there which she feels like is the first time he has reached out.
So they both end up hanging out a lot to avoid family (there is some more drama with MMC family but I don’t want to write about it and it doesn’t feel that important tbh. Family drama blah blah blah that gets solved in the end blah blah blah.
They end up sleeping together “just as friends” LOL WE KNOW HOW THAT ALWAYS FUCKING ENDS EXCEPT IN MY CASE WHERE HE ACTUALLY NEVER FUCKING CARED ABOUT ME AND JUST DITCHED ME LOLLLLLL.
…..
Oops, got a little lost there – obviously this in another reason I didn’t like this book and I was really reading it at a bad time in my life.
There is some kind of misunderstanding, she gets mad at him I think and he ends up saying he doesn’t need a ride back and she takes that as a dismissal of them. So there is a short time where they don’t talk until she does her best to find him back at school and when she does they get together fr.
I am literally so whatever about this book guys. I keep saying that I am done reading romance but also sometimes I get really tired of classics or books that really make me think and I need to take a break. But the thing is, IDK what to read as a ‘break’ so that’s why I keep ending up back at romance.
Sorry for all those run on sentences, oh well, by3
