I also like a good Ashley Poston book. Yeah she rights romance and its modern but also it has such a fun twist on it lol. A little magical. I probably should have made a pact with myself to read every book she puts out and I will be a happier person for it.

I started this book during a show I was working and then got too busy to be able to finish it until afterwards when I was just reading book after book as I have been dealing with my heartbreak.

But guys, this book made me cry a tear or two at the end, shocking I know.

Well our FMC is a song writer, DON’T get it twisted, she doesn’t sing and doesn’t want to. She has written several hit songs within the last several years but is currently going through a writers block.

She is about to go back to her childhood home to visit her family but stops by one of the artists that she has written lots of songs for. There she runs into an ex-member of a boy band that she listened to as a kid and they end up kissing but he acts like an ass apparently.

Now her mom has been diagnosed with dementia in the last year so she is seeing her mom for the first time since its started getting worse.

Her parents own a bar/concert venue and they surprise her and her brother that they are going to sell the place.

Oh and somehow she got a man in her head. They are sharing minds and can hear everyones thoughts and feelings. They try and figure out why and how and end up having the guy come to the town so they can figure it out.

Annnddd turns out the guy is the asshole musician. They figure out they have to write a song together and as they do that they start to fall in love with each other.

When they finish writing the song, they are finally free from each other being in their heads. They are sad. They end up giving the song to a friend of hers.

She ends up staying in the town instead of going back to LA and the guy becomes a producer and eventually after a few months or years (I cannot remember) he moves to the town too.

So the thing that made me cry was her relationship with her mom and reading about how it feels to slowly loose her mom to dementia. The author experienced this in her own family and she was able to write about it so well and with grace. Idk how to end this part soo…

goodbye
